PL2B1D Lidar system transmits a laser beam to the atmosphere and receives the backscattered light from aerosols. It is usuful for observing profiles of backscattering coefficient or extinctin coefficient.
With the dual-polarization measurement function, non-sphericity of scatteres can be measured.
Lidar observes vertical distributions of mineral dust and air pollutino aerosols continuously by transmitting the laser pulse and receiving the returned scattering signals.
This Lidar system was designed by NIES (National Institute for Environmental Studies, Japan) and it's function is guaranteed by NIES.
